The archival photos alone are worth it — I had no idea Le Corbusier and Benakis used the island as a hideout, and the book ties that history into the modern scene beautifully. It reads less like a coffee-table prop and more like an actual cultural history of the place.

I picked this up before a trip and ended up reading it cover to cover instead of using it as a coffee table book. The sections on the island's society and the artists and elites who hid out there give real context you don't get from a travel guide.

The photos of Le Corbusier's time on the island are worth the price alone, and the storytelling around Mykonos's glamorous past keeps you turning pages. It's a hefty coffee table book too, and the paper quality feels much nicer than I expected.
