I picked this up before a weekend out east and ended up reading the Ditch Plains chapter twice—it nails the whole surfer scene there. The writing moves fast and the insider details about chartering a yacht off the Springs made me feel like I actually knew the place.

The polo match chapter alone was worth it—I could practically smell the grass and hear the ponies. Picked it up for a weekend read and ended up rationing chapters just to make it last.

Didn't expect to get so pulled into the polo scene chapter, but the way it captures the whole ritual had me hooked. The yacht section off the Springs felt like a mini escape, and the writing moves fast enough that I finished it in two sittings.
