Grekiska öar

The mythology sections are what really got me — I had no idea each island had its own distinct legends, and it made me rethink places I'd already visited. The writing on Greek hospitality is warm without being cheesy, and the photos of the Aegean are gorgeous.

I picked this up before a two-week island hop and it actually helped me choose which islands to visit based on their different characters. The writing on local hospitality and island spirit made me feel like I understood each place before I even arrived.

The mythology sections are what really made this book for me — I had no idea how different each island's stories were until I read the chapter on Delos. Reading it before bed has honestly become my favorite part of planning this trip.
