The 4½ inch height is just right for my dining table without blocking anyone's view across it. I've filled mine with whatever's blooming in the yard, and even a few sprigs look intentional in it.
Bought three of these to line up down the middle of our dining table, and the 4.5 inch height means nobody has to lean around them to see across the table. Tossed in a few stems from the garden and they look way nicer than I expected for the price.
The vase looks nice grouped on my dining table, but it's smaller than I pictured even knowing the 4 1/2" measurement. It tips a bit with a full bunch of tulips since the base is light. Fine for a few stems, not much more.
