シック・キャッツ

I leafed through this on a rainy afternoon and ended up reading it cover to cover in one sitting. The way it traces cats through film and fashion is genuinely clever, and the Hockney artwork gives it a real coffee-table feel without being pretentious.

The print quality really surprised me, especially the Hockney reproductions, which hold up beautifully on the thicker matte pages. It sits on my coffee table now and every guest ends up thumbing through the film and fashion sections.

The Hockney pieces alone justify the price, but it's the fashion and film sections that surprised me—I had no idea how deep the cat influence ran. The reproductions are sharper than I expected for a book this size.
