Wasn't sure faux rattan would look this good in person, but the tight weave section gives it a solid, real texture up close. The open parts let wet umbrellas breathe instead of trapping that damp smell in the bottom of the stand.

The open weave on this thing is genuinely clever — wet umbrellas actually dry instead of sitting in a puddle, which was my whole reason for buying it. The faux rattan looks convincingly woven up close too, not plasticky at all.
