Served oysters and shrimp in this on the patio last weekend and the earthenware stayed cool to the touch even in the sun. The scallop ridges make a nice little pool for the ice to drain off.

Served oysters and shrimp in it for a backyard dinner and the earthenware ceramic felt surprisingly sturdy without being heavy. The scallop ridges are detailed enough that it looks like more than just a basic serving dish.

The scalloped shell shape looks lovely on the table and the earthenware has a nice weight to it, not flimsy at all. My only gripe is it's a bit bulky to store in my cabinet. Still, it made a plain fruit salad look way fancier for brunch.
