The classical antique shape is what sold me, and up close they look even better than the photos. Put them on the sideboard with two ivory tapers and the whole room felt dressed up. Heavy enough that they don't wobble when the table gets bumped.
Hand-crafting really shows on these — the finish has that slightly uneven, made-by-a-person quality you don't get from factory pieces. They're 10 inches, so they sit tall enough on my sideboard to frame a mirror without crowding it.
The antique design reads so much nicer in person than the photos suggested, and the hand-crafted finish gives them a slightly imperfect, lived-in charm I really like. They've been sitting on my sideboard for a few weeks now and I still notice them every time I walk past.
