The shagreen texture on these feels genuinely luxurious compared to the plain brass set I had before. The letter opener glides through envelopes cleanly, and having the matching magnifier right there on my desk is surprisingly handy for reading fine print.
The oval handles fit my hand way better than the round magnifier I had before, no cramping after reading fine print. The shagreen texture is a nice touch too, feels grippy rather than slick.
The brass has a nice weight to it, and the shagreen texture makes the set feel far nicer than plain metal desk tools. I keep the letter opener by my mail pile and the magnifying glass has already come in handy for fine print.
